Club page: Fiordland Athletic Club
Fiordland Athletic Club is a thriving Te Anau club and Fiordland is definitely rated as one of the most amazing places in the world for running and athletics. In every direction there are trails that cover the most spectacular mountains and views; trails that are approriate for everybody from the casual jogger to the world beater, and that include the world famous Kepler track, immediately next to Te Anau.
Fiordland Athletics Club also uses an athletics track that must have one of the best views in the world.
The club cover all athletic track and field activities, from road racing to trail adventures, to long jump and high jump. They welcome all levels of ability; including those who just want to walk and talk.
Fiordland Athletics Club has a great group of athletes that love the sport of athletics and includes national level coaches, national champions and even a world champion/world record holder. But it's also an incredibly social club. The club loves having new people come along along and enjoying the social aspect of the sport. It's all about having fun.
During the "harrier season" (winter trail running) the club organises social runs on a Sunday for all abilities, with a famous carrot cake for all participants at the finishing line. The club is even competitive about the carrot cake itself; any FAC member can enter a carrot cake, and they are judged by three runners.

Borland Run Camp
The club also organises the Borland Run Camp, a fabulous three-day event at the start of December with running routes and inspirational running speakers, held at Borland Lodge on the Borland Road, Fiordland. It's a wonderful training and social weekend, with different routes for different abilities. Perfect for people who have signed up for the annual Kepler Challenge, or those who didn't get in but want to get running! Go to the Borland Run Camp website.
